Scottish Pear Cocktail

Beginning in August, pears come in to season. The Scottish Pear Cocktail, one of Charlotte’s favorite creations, is the perfect cocktail to celebrate the appearance of such a diverse and delectable fruit. Of note is Charlotte’s use of two base spirits in this cocktail which builds a unique and robust platform for the remaining ingredients and enables each spirit to shine through while complimenting the other.

I’ve been looking for a nice addition to my fall repetoire, and I think I’ve found it!

What are your thoughts on using a modified simple instead of the agave? Something like a ginger syrup, that would further compliment the pear and the botanicals from the gin.

Hi there

Glad you like the Scottish Pair, it certainly is a great way to slide into fall.
I have not tried this recipe with a ginger simple syrup but it sounds like a tasty idea. Gin and ginger is a great match, I wouldn’t go too bold on the ginger profile since Hendrick’s is a little more delicate, but I think it could work really well.
Have a go and let us know how it tastes!
