Evergreen Swizzle
By Jamie Boudreau
The swizzle, a style of cocktail utilizing crushed ice, typically made with rum and given a good mixing with a swizzle stick, is a perfect drink for the approaching Summer. In this swizzle, Jamie utilizes Edinburgh Gin, a new gin on the market. With wonderful floral tones and resounding pine notes, it is the perfect gin for the Evergreen Swizzle.
Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz Edinburgh Gin
1/2 oz Yellow Chartreuse
Zirbenz Pine Liqueur
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup

This is an excellent cocktail for summer! Had to sub a few things and it still came out great.. Didn’t have the edinburgh yet in Nashville, TN so I used Deaths Door, which has a similar pine character. In lieu of Yellow Chartreuse, I dropped it down to 1/4 oz of Green as the green is just a bit richer than yellow and I felt it would lend a great green color to the cocktail, and in lieu of the Zirbenz pine, I substituted 1/2 oz of Clear Creek Douglis Fir Eau de Vie, a bit easier to find.
Sounds yummy
Jamie, good to see you back. Bar looks great. I can’t wait to visit.
Ugh! So many ingredients I can’t get in Canada! Hahaha! But very inspiring, I haven’t tried making any swizzles before. I’ll use this as a jumping point! Thanks, Jaime.
Thanks for the kind words all! I hope to see you soon H!
