As are we, Thiago! Thank you for watching! Colin - Small Screen
Better luck next time, Trevor! Keep trying! Thank you for watching! Colin - Small Screen
Glad you enjoyed it, Bethann! Thank you for watching! Small Screen
Greg, Glad you enjoy the new episode of The Proper Pour with Charlotte Voisey! The location we used for the series this season and last is Rob Roy here in Seattle. It is owned by the venerable Anu Apte and is one of America's top bars according to David Wondrich. You should definitely check it out next time you are in the area! In regard to videos, we are shooting new episodes of all of our shows this month. Look for new seasons and episodes in May! Thank you for watching! Colin - Small Screen
Greg, We are going through withdrawal as well! Our esteemed hosts can't wait to get more videos out to the world! Glad you appreciate what we have to offer. This is only the tip of the iceberg! Colin - Small Screen
steve7500, I know that Francesco is traveling right now, so I will try to answer your question. The cherries right off the tree are a variety of sour cherry. They are then taken through a process that sweetens them and then they are packed in a delicious cherry syrup. You can find out more here: http://www.anchordistilling.com/spirits/luxardo-maraschino-cherries You should be able to find Luxardo Maraschino Cherries in any gourmet food shop or stores like While Foods. Other Luxardo products can be found across the country depending on the state. The brandy Fracncesco uses is Lepanto: http://www.anchordistilling.com/brands/lepanto Thanks for watching! Colin
Jongansus, I am glad that you found Small Screen and Raising the Bar with Jamie Boudreau and that our site can help you learn new skills! Good luck on your quest for bartending greatness!
Greg, We love The Morgenthaler Method too! We will keep it going as long as we can! Thanks for watching! Colin
Not exactly sure, Greg. We hope as soon as possible.
Cole, Thanks so much for your kind words and thank you for watching! I am glad you have learned from watching our videos. Colin
Alex, My personal opinion is that the more properly made Old Fashioneds (and other classics) we can promote on Small Screen, the better! Here in Seattle, we suffer from the overly muddled orange slices, cherry and ice in a mixing glass syndrome that ruins what should be a beautiful drink. As far as home bars go, I know there are a great many who have cool bars in their homes. Profiling folks and their bars is a great idea for a series! For many at home though, like myself, my bar is, well, my kitchen counter. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for all your comments. This type of engagement and feedback is what makes Small Screen and our fans so great! We are always striving to make better shows and expand our network. Your input helps drive us to be better!
Happy April 1st, cbreets!
Thanks, Brian! Yes, it is a typo. Fixed. Happy Thanksgiving!
This discussion makes me wonder if there is a direct correlation between brown spirits being mixed with soda and clear spirits (like gin in a gin and tonic) or liqueurs or amaraos, etc. (like in an Americano) being mixed with soda and the bad/good effects therein. Now, surely there are those who enjoy a whiskey and soda. I am not one of them. I think it does not enhance the taste of a whiskey. What would a carbonated Suburban be like I wonder?
LeeAnne, Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy all our videos on Small Screen Network! Simple syrup is a sugar and water mixture (usually 1:1 or 2:1) that is used to sweeten cocktails. Here is a great example of how to make rich simple syrup by our host Jamie Boudreau on his show Raising the Bar: http://www.smallscreennetwork.com/video/450/raising_the_bar_rich_simple_syrup/ Cheers!
Blair, I hold heartedly agree! Robert made a wonderful Calvados Cocktail a while back. You can watch it being made here: http://www.smallscreennetwork.com/video/264 Cheers and Thank you for watching!
Just a typo. That should read 1/4 oz sweet vermouth. I will make the change now.
Ethan, The event is on January 14th. Thanks for catching that. i have updated the post. Colin
Thank you so much for your comment S. Matzke. As a small company we know that quality counts. We also know that true fans of the show come back every week because of the story Robert tells. I hope you continue to enjoy the show for years to come. Sincerely, Colin Kimball President, Content Development Small Screen Network
Jas, Thank you for the compliment and your support. We hope you enjoy the current episodes as well as the future episodes we recently shot that will be coming out in March. As for the match/lighter question, I will let the scientists in the community answer that one: -> Thank you for watching! Colin Kimball President, Content Development Producer Small Screen Network
Here is an interesting use of bitters: Food Guru - $50 Mac and Cheese
donbert, The ratio applies to the whole drink recipe not just the simple syrup. Back in another episode (I do not recall which at the moment) Robert discusses what ratio he uses in creating his simple syrup. I will let him explain further about the type of sugar he uses. Sorry about the confusion. I will change to reflect this better in the site. Colin
Jeffrey, You can watch Robert making the Vieux Carre here: http://www.smallscreennetwork.com/video/99/vieux_carre/ Thanks for watching!
Steven, you can also watch Jamie Boudreau, host of Raising the Bar on Small Screen Network, double strain the delicious breakfast Collins here: http://www.smallscreennetwork.com/video/480/raising_the_bar_breakfast_collins/ Thanks for watching! Colin
The iPod/iPhone and Apple TV downloads are under the Podcasts section to the right of the player. You must be registered as a member to access them. These files are in m4v format and can be downloaded using Quicktime or iTunes. We highly recommend using these files with iTunes; they look fantastic! Due to high costs of data transfer we have removed wmv and mp4. We are sorry if this has caused any inconvenience.
It does have orange juice in it......
Sorry about the typo in the recipe area. I have made the change. Thanks for your keen eye!
Hello All, There is a mistake in the recipe at the end of the video. I put and extra ounce of Limoncello in. It should read 1/2 oz Limoncello. Sorry for the mistake! Colin
Thank you all or your comments. I will skip the direct response as I believe my business partner Brain did a great job at explaining how we run our business and that your comments are very valuable to us. This brings up an issue that we have debated here at Small Screen Network: to add subscription fees or not. The current incarnation of this in my mind is to offer all our current and future content for free to all. The downfall would be that it comes with ads and sponsorships attached. The next level would be for audience members who do not want ads and feel it either detracts from their viewing experience or the content in general. Each member would decide if they wanted to pay for one episode or a whole series. The price would correspond accordingly. My hope is that people are willing to pay for high quality content if the price is right. If you are not, why? We would love to hear your opinion on this. Please email me directly or comment here. Thanks! colin@smallscreennetwork.com
